Brief
Ysalotta Stockus is an NPC I designed for Harthstone Isles, a short-term collaborative modding project for Skyrim Special Edition that I worked on as part of Beyond Skyrim’s Arcane University. I worked on this project as a writer from October 2022 until its release in July 2023. For NPC design, writers were asked to use a specific template, which asked for a detailed backstory, notes on character appearance, voice and daily routines. I was also asked to give a brief outline of the character’s main residence, to help inform and provide prompts for the level design team.
As well as her standard dialogue, Ysalotta would feature in an associated quest and additional scenes. The character also needed a few store barks, as she’s the East Empire Company’s Quartermaster on the Harthstone Isles.
The documentation here follows the Beyond Skyrim and Arcane University unified style guide. As such, all text is in American English and the Oxford comma is used. Notes for voice actors are highlighted in orange, and implementation notes are highlighted in purple. There’s a let’s play clip of Ysalotta in the released mod below this document.
